Admission Notice

 

  1. The admission process of the session 2010-2011 in the First year B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. Honours and General will start on 07.06.2010 (Monday) at 11:30 a.m.
  2.  

  3. The candidates will collect Prospectus for Honours and General Courses from office till 16th June 3 p.m. producing Original marks-sheet and by paying Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only).
  4.  

  5. Eligibility for issuing Prospectus for candidates belonging to General category are as follows:

    • For B.A. and B.Sc. candidates seeking admission in general course must have 45% marks in Top Four except ENVE.
    • For B.A. Honours candidates must have 50% marks in Top Four except ENVE and 55% marks in Honours subject.
    • For B.Sc. Honours candidates must have 55% marks in Top Four except ENVE and 55% marks in Honours subject.
    • For B.Com. Honours candidates must have 50% marks in Top Four except ENVE and 45% marks in Honours subject.
    • For B.Com.  candidates seeking admission in General course must pass in Higher Secondary Examination.

     

  7. Eligibility for issuing Prospectus for candidates belonging to S.C/ S.T. category in all stream are as follows:

    • For Honours candidates must have 40% marks in Top Four except ENVE or  40% marks in Honours subject.
    • For candidates seeking admission in General course must pass in Higher Secondary Examination.

     

     

  9. Candidates are liable for calculation of the percentage of their Top Four marks during collection of Prospectus. During admission if the percentage of Top four marks and Honours marks does not support the eligibility criteria, the college authority will not be responsible and the students enrollment/ admission will stand cancelled.

  11. Entire admission process will be executed according to the rules and regulations of Calcutta University and Uluberia College stated at page no. 3 of the main Notice.

NOTICE FOR ADMISSION INTO 1ST YEAR CLASSES FOR THE SESSION 2010-2011

 

 

The students who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent Examination 2010 are hereby informed that the admission into 1st Year Classes for the Academic Session 2010-11 will be commence on and from 17.06.2010 as per following norms :-

1) It is compulsory for the students willing to take admission into the 1st. Year B.A & B.Sc Honours classes to appear at the counseling session to be held at the college premises as per schedule given below.

2) Admission into 1st year Honours classes will NOT be entertained other than the specific date of counseling as fixed by the college authority.

3) The students who are selected for admission into Honours Course at the counseling session are required to pay an enrollment fees of amount of Rs. 500(five hundred) at the time of counseling and this enrollment fees will be adjusted at the time of final payment of required amount at the cash counter of the office. Under no circumstances this amount will be refunded.

4) The students who are willing to get admission into 1st. Year B.Com Honours and General class are instructed to contact the college office on and from 21.06.2010 and onwards between 11.30 am to 3.30 p.m for direct admission.

5) Direct Method of admission will be followed for admission into all 1 st year B.A and B.Sc B.Com General classes as per following Schedule and criteria through counseling and the students are required to pay enrollment fees of amount of Rs. 100/- (One hundred only) at the time of counseling which will be adjusted with the amount required for admission.

7) All admissions are made on provisional basis .The college authority has every right to cancel any admission without assigning any reason of cancellation.

8) The students who have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent Examination-2007,2008 & 2009 are also eligible for admission. But their total marks will be reduced @ 10 % for each preceding year i.e. 10 % marks will be deducted for the candidates who have passed the said examination in the year 2009, 20 % marks will be deducted for the candidates who have passed the said examination in the year 2008 and 30 % for the candidates of 2007. The candidates who have passed the said examination in the year 2006 or before 2006 are not eligible for admission.

9) The Compartmental or C.C candidates are also eligible for admission. But their total marks will be reduced @ 5 % for each year of appearance in the said examination. Page-6

10) All candidates passing HS Examination 2010 in Vocational Course (A.G) may get admission into B.A general course only.

11) All available seats are reserved as per rules circulated by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. Of West-Bengal (i.e 22 %, 6 %, 3 % and 2 % of the available seats will remain reserved for S.C, S.T, Physically Challenged and O.B.C candidates respectively)

12) Amount to be paid at the time of final admission.

13) The students who will choose the Geography and Computer Science as one of the combination subjects will have to pay Rs.200.00 (Two hundred only) per month as an additional charge.

14) The following documents are to be produced at the time of counseling / admission.

 

  • Admit card of the Madhyamik or Equivalent examination in original and one  copy attested by the Headmaster / Headmistress of the last school attended.

  • Mark-sheet of the Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examination in original and one  copy attested by the Headmaster / Headmistress of the last school attended.

  • H.S Registration certificate in original.

  • 6 copies of recent passport size photograph.

  • For SC/ST/OBC /PC candidates, Original S.C / S.T / O.B.C /PC certificate  issued by D.M. / S.D.O./MP / MLA / Municipality Councilor / Member of Zilla Parisad will be accepted. All these documents will  duly be attested by the Headmaster / Headmistress of the last school attended.

 

15 ) Notwithstanding what have been stated above, the notice is subject to modification, if necessary.

 

Minimum criteria for admission into B.Com. Honours and General

 

 For B.Com. Honours (General Category) – 55% marks in Accountancy/ Business Organization / Business Economics including Business Mathematics / Mathematics (for Science stream) and must have qualifying marks in Mathematics in Madhyamik Examination.

OR

50%  in aggregate (Top Four) i.e. 200 marks  and 50% marks in Accountancy / Business Organization / Business Economics including Business Mathematics / Mathematics (for Science stream) and must have qualifying marks in Mathematics in Madhyamik Examination.

B.Com. General – Candidates must have qualifying marks in Mathematics in Madhyamik Examination.

For SC/ST /PC (Honours) - either 40% in Top Four or 40% marks in Accountancy/ Business Organization / Business Economics.

For SC/ST /PC (General) - Candidates must pass in Higher Secondary Examination.
